Christoph Schroth holds a Dr. oec. from University of St. Gallen, a Dipl-Ing. Univ. (M.Sc.) and a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from Technische Universität München. He conducted Graduate studies in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and also studied at the MIT Sloan School of Management where he worked as an MIT E-Lab consultant for the Portuguese start-up company OutSystems.com. Christoph earned a Certificate of Technology Management from the Center of Digital Technology and Management (CDTM). As a Center of Excellence of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and Technische Universität München (TUM), CDTM offers selected students the interdisciplinary Master-level graduate program Technology Management which is part of the Elite Network of Bavaria (ENB). Since June 2009, he has been working for a leading top management consulting firm. He received the “Guy Doumeingts Young Researcher Best Paper Award”, the EIKON Price from TUM, the Rudolf-Diesel Price from the “Akademischer Maschinen-Ingenieur Verein e.V." (AMIV) and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at TUM, and the “Buchpreis” from the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft. He was also elected as member of the Dean's List at TUM and has been participating in various corporate fellowship programs (such as the Infineon MemberChip Program, and the McKinsey College). Christoph is member of the IEEE, the MIT Club of Germany as well as the CDTM Alumni Organization. During his studies, he gained professional experience in the fields of product development, academic research/ lecturing and management consulting with several employers including BMW Group, EADS Astrium GmbH, the Institute of Network Theory and Signal Processing (NWS-TUM), the Institute of Communication Networks at the Technische Universität München (LKN-TUM) as well as McKinsey & Company, Inc. From July 2006 to February 2009, he worked as Research Associate and doctoral candidate at the Institute for Media and Communications Management (MCM Institute, University of St. Gallen) and as an Associate at SAP (Switzerland) AG. At SAP, he initiated and managed the acquisition of research projects (e.g., FAST, Pre-Drive C2X) funded by the European Commission and participated in diverse SAP-internal projects, ranging from strategic business planning to the design and prototyping of novel product offerings. In 2008 and 2007, he was elected as SAP High Potential and Top Talent, respectively. His main research interests included the "Internet of Services", the "Internet of Things", Electronic Markets, Enterprise Interoperability, Communication Networks, Smart Items, and Enterprise Service-Oriented Architectures. Research results have been published in leading international journals and in books and conference proceedings. |
